The academic plan articulates the core principles and priorities that will inform the academic directions of the University of Calgary during the next four years. The video, Raising our Sights, outlines the plan and speaks to these core principles and priorities. The strategic priority areas are not tied to established organizational structures, such as Faculties, departments, centres, or institutes, nor are they limited to specific disciplines or sub-disciplines. Rather, they are woven throughout the fabric of the university, and they invite contributions from an array of units, disciplines, methodologies, and approaches. The themes that meet the criteria outlined above, and that have been selected as strategic academic priorities of the University of Calgary at this time are:
